Apartment Tour: My Living Room

For the longest time I have wanted to share a glimpse at my apartment here in TN. It's been so much fun for me to decorate and put together and I wanted to capture it and be able to share it with anyone else who was interested. So when my friend, Alyssa, came to visit and immediately wanted to photograph the apartment I got so excited. This will be a series that has a couple of parts. Today we are starting off with a tour of my living room, the place where I spend the majority of my time at home.

When I first moved in, the living room had one taupe accent wall. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely not my style. I decided to paint over it with a neutral gray and I am so happy I did! This wall is the perfect color for this space and it allows me to bring in lots of color with accessories. I also knew that I wanted to have a gallery wall behind the tv. My collection is still growing and there is still a lot I want to add, but so far I am happy with my prints. All of them are from Society6

The majority of my big furniture pieces are things that I had bought back home and then moved down with me. One of my favorite pieces in my living room is my media console from IKEA. It's very mid-century and the light wood pops against the gray wall. Besides that my most favorite thing in my living room is a bookcase/media table that my day built for me for my birthday last year. It's the perfect place for my growing book collection, my records, and my record player. I am absolutely in love with the way that it turned out and it means so much to me to have something my dad built in my apartment. I'm working on getting him to make me another piece :)

One of my favorite things about my living room is that it's really a collection of things that make me happy. I love being surrounded by art, photographs, and books- each one adding their own something special to the space. Plus, this is where Lennon does most of his hanging out so it's full of his toys and energy.

It's still a work in progress but I am pretty in love with my space and so happy with how it has turned out so far! I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my apartment! I again have to thank my wonderful friend, Alyssa, for taking such great photos of my space. Stay tuned for more room tours coming up soon!
