Girls Weekend In Nashville

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have my best friend from high school come and visit me for a girls weekend. Not only is she an amazingly talented photographer, but she it also one of my favorite human beings. I wanted to show her some of my favorite places around the city but also allow her to discover her own gems and to stumble upon some new things myself.

Our weekend included lots of great food (& coffee). I took Alyssa to some of my favorite spots: Frothy Monkey for lunch and a "Monkey Mocha", Five Daughter's Bakery to try their new chocolate raspberry donut, and of course, Starbucks for a little afternoon pick-me-up. We also got to try out some new spots that I had been wanting to check out for a while. Our first stop was at the new Grilled Cheeserie restaurant where we enjoyed some delicious melts and I indulged in an amazing milkshake. We also enjoyed dinner and drinks at Flip Burger Boutique and had brunch and bottomless mimosas at City Fire

We also spent some time going around and doing all the stereotypical "Nashville" things. We walked across the pedestrian bridge, stopped into the Ryman, and walked all along Broadway.

And of course, what would a girls weekend be without a little shopping?? I take everyone who visits to Hillsboro Village. It's probably one of my favorite places in the city and holds some of the cutest little shops. We stopped into Pangaea where we each grabbed some rings and stationary, and then headed to Native and Nomad and The Impeccable Pig. We also did some shopping in The Gulch and picked up some cute pieces at Blush Boutique and Urban Outfitters. Lastly, we checked out the shops on Fatherland. I had been there before but never really seen all that it had to offer. We looked through all the cute items at The Gift Horse and I fell in love with Her Bookshop. Seriously, I could have stayed in there forever!

It was a great weekend of exploring and quality time with Alyssa. We had the perfect mixture of laugh out loud moments and deep conversations and she got me so amped up about blogging and writing again. All of these lovely photographs were taken by her. You can check out her website here. She is a beautiful person and her photography reflects that. I can't wait for her to come and visit again! Until next time.
